Hair dye suggestions!? Black hair going brown?

I'm half asian, but my hair isn't like asians hair. It's thick and dark brown. It's shoulder length now. I've dyed it a few times and its only noticably changed colors once. I don't want red or orange but a natural looking light brown. Someone help!!

First of all - keep in mind that if you have dyed your hair black, the only way to lighten it now will be to either have it stripped, or to bleach your hair.

Other than that - Feria has hair-colors called High Lift - They are specifically made for women who have naturally dark brown or black hair. They really do work. At least they worked for me. Most other dyes left my hair with a reddish brassy kind of tinge, but these colors leave your hair a light brown with gold color.

Another tip is - if you don't want your hair to turn brassy or you want to tone out the reddish tones in your hair, dye it with an "Ash" tone not a "golden" tone. I know it sounds backwards, but ash has more of a green tone in it that helps to neutralize the reddish pigment in your hair, where as golden tones are warmer and will strengthen the reddish hues.

dark reddish brown would look good as a transition hue. Something like mahogany. then from there you can go lighter into a nice natural brown.

find a hair stylint who knows how to work with asian hair, and ask his opinion. He will know how to work with your hair and give you advice. Ask for a stylist with experience,.

I WILL TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE RED IS THE HARDEST COLOR TO TAKE OUT OF HAIR AND IS THE HARDEST TO PUT INTO HAIR...THE RED HAIR FROLICS ARE THE LARGEST THAT IS THE MAIN REASON....SO NO MATTER WHAT SHADE OF BROWN YOU USE YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO HAVE THAT RED THERE...SINCE YOU'RE ASIAN WHY NOT TRY A BLUE-BLACK...THAT WAY YOU WON'T GET THE RED AND IT WOULD MORE LIKE YOUR NATURAL COLOR FOR YOUR DESCENT?..........JUST AN IDEA.....

well actually asians DO have thick and some have dark brown hair too lol

but thats not the point.

Don't dye hair with the color dye that contains ammonia its really bad for you hair

trust me i should know i've dyed my hair about 9 times lol..

But you should go for henna hair color.

They sell in like indonesian stores. Their not dye, but their the most natural hair color "dye" you can get.

But some of them stink really badly, so if that's not an option for you, go for ORGANIC hair dye..they sell in organic stores it smells like coconuts and it works well too.

Just don't go for like the cheap ones they sell in regular drug stores.

The natural organic ones should have more color choices and come out beautifulllly..

If you're half Asian...the color for you is Dark Brown or Black...I can't imagine an asian with lighter hair color.
