Red in wedding colors?

I am getting married in August 2008, so very soon. I am part Asian so would like to use red in my wedding colors for good luck, plus red looks good on my brides maids (we all have almost black hair). My wedding gown is ecru-colored, so I figured a garnet-red would for my brides maids would look good with my ecru-gown. I like a clean, modern look that is warm but not heavy, since it will be summer. My venue is a penthouse with gorgeous, round windows framed in dark wood, overlooking the entire city. The wooden floor is light-medium brown, and the walls are cream-colored. The ballroom chairs are matte gold/bronze, the seat cushions are a rich espresso brown. Linens are ivory, plates are white with a thin gold line. I don't have it in the budget to re-decorate all the chairs in different colors, so I am trying to go as much as I can with what the venue offers. What are the best colors for this type of venue and can I incorporate some sort of red?

i wuld use ruby or garnet in the color scheme. some beautiful dark red roses elegantly bunched up and placed randomly in the rom would work. I'd have to see it to help better. Especially with cream and espresso, the rich red will pop adn if you threw in a little light pinkit would pop even more.

You certainly can! Red looks great with gold, white....you don't have to worry about the floors and the chairs. The linens will make everything look brighter and red will go. If you fear that the red will not "pop" out, you could incorporate an ivory flower as well. That will make the red stand out even more. I really don't think you have anything to worry about if you just wanted red. I think it will look fabulous! Congratulations!

The colors of the chairs will be gorgeous with your bronze floors, creamwalls, matte gold/bronze chairs..very rich colors.

however, I would go with red roses centerpieces/with hints of gold..simple is better.

I think red would look beautiful in that room. You could do red flowers in a low centerpiece, red bows on the back of the bride and groom chairs. You could even do red napkins. Any type of red accents would look gorgeous in the room.

A very dark, rich red. Try a different fabric than satin though. I would go with an iridescent taffeta or chiffon . . . something really fancy to go along with your venue (plus they are light weight for a hot August wedding)/

Were doing a Apple, Black and White wedding. If you have that gold, id run with it. Do a wine color with the gold and white or black. I think itll look amazing, get some color swatches and play with colors, but id include gold in those swatches
