Please help me with my hair...?

Okay, my hair is a disaster, and I need a helping hand.

I'm Asian.

My hair is thick.

After I wash my hair, it starts feeling oily and smelling only after a few hours.

I have a lot of split ends scatterer through out and broken hair texture-ish strands, yet, some of my strands are healthy.

It can get really frizzy sometimes.

Many times, my hair is mass and voluminous near the bottom and flat on top. It annoys me.

Like everyone else, I want voluminous and pretty hair.

Now, someone tell me what shampoo and conditioner I should use, how often I should wash my hair, how I should wash my hair, and anything else that has to do with keeping my hair in good shape.

Talking to your hair stylist is a good idea. If she can't figure it out, maybe it's the length of your hair. Is yuour hair pretty long? Try cutting it short.

TV show in 2007, cant remember what its called.?

I remember that it was one of the first or at least the first few episodes and the main character was a girl with brown hair who leaves an orphanage and goes to college on a scholarship. When she gets there she realizes she doesnt have money to pay for her lunches and a blonde girl offers to pay for the first month and they become friends. Also the main character meets a shy asian girl who later tries to jump out the window when the blonde girl says she cant come party with them. Oh yeah, and also the main characters love interest seems to be this guy who is black mixed and he has dreadlocks or something tied back into a ponytail.

Anyone remember what this show is called? I searched everywhere online, now im hoping someone here can help out.

Oh and, if there are any other tv shows that i should watch let me know. I just quit my job so i plan on laying about catching up on shows i missed. So far ive seen lost, scrubs, the L word and am starting on The OC and One Tree Hill.

Okay, why the label of black and white? I once heard an interview with a female sportscaster (Jayne Kennedy, I believe) who classified herself as a 'caramel cream' and another black female as 'dark chocolate'. I knew a mixed race gentleman who referred to himself as 'cream in coffee'. As a caucasian female, I am deathly pale with light brown hair, but my hub is olive complected with dark hair and dark eyes. I have met people classified as 'black' who are fairer than he is, so what determines 'black or white'? I much prefer the survey form question that asks: Asian, Indo-european, Mediterranean, African and Semetic as a choice of ethnicities rather than a color. Your thoughts please?

Ummm you can either dye it before or after dosent matter. What matters is the period between dying and straightening.

You wanna dye jet black be. That color wont do any damage to your hair. However i recommend, you straighten first and then get ur hair dyed after 15 days or so. Bt not before 15 days. As your hair might get all dry and frizzy if u do it earlier.

you need to do it after. at least a week . the system has a tendency to strip the color out. also have your stylist do it theres so much that could go wrong with home color. Follow all instruction that you stylist gives you that way you can be sure you will have great straight hair!

No - no perms- your hair would just be kinky and frizzy. Perms are for little old ladies. Invest in some hot rollers and those bendable curling wand rod things. They are spongy and bendable-you wrap the hair around them. Sorry but I cant think of the name of them.

if you do get a perm get the loosest perm your hair dresser offers. the bigger the curlers, the better. i am afraid if you do it any tighter of a perm, it will be small curles instead of waves. good luck.

Go to an expensive hair place and have them "razor" the edges. Experiment with styling wax or buy a texturizer. It is hard to get used to, but it will work. If you get a perm, get a body wave. "scrunching" the after you apply the product to wet/damp hair and re-scrunching as it dries really helps. I sometimes have to re-wet and re-scrunch 1 -2 times if I want mine to work just right. Going into a sauna and scrunching after it dries with product in really helps. Or just appreciate your beautiful straight asian hair. You are lucky. There are a lot of people with scrunchy shaggy hair that would like to have yours.

some say rude, and aggressive they cant seem to get along with us.Then I remember walking into a barbershop to get my haircut everybody in there was black until two white guys came in, these white guys were the coolest calmest dudes they weren't scared or judgmental even in a room filled with "aggressive laud black people" they just sat there got they're hair cut and moved on. I also remember me walking into a store to buy my clothes on the east side of town, the store was owned by an Asian family one of workers was showing three very tall black men around, he was perfectly fine doing his job getting along with all the customers that walked in his store which were all black. Even though we have dark skin, talk slang ,dress differently they treated us like 1stclass people why is it so hard for others to do the same?

if it's a permanent color then you'll have to mix 2 chemicals together.

the developer (sometimes called peroxide) works for the first 20-30 minutes to lift out your natural haircolor; then the color gets deposited into the hair for the next 15 minutes (it depends on how long it's supposed to be left on. different manufacturers have different times to leave the color on)

you could end up with a tinge of color - you could also end up with all kinds of different colors because the color doesn't penetrate as well on some parts as it does others (hair close to the scalp developes faster because of the heat of the head)

here's my suggestion:

do a strand test on a swatch of hair in the back (under all your other hair) close to the occipital bone (the one that sticks out in the back of your head). wrap it with aluminum foil for the correct time on the package. once it's done shampoo, condition and blowdry to check the color out. you might just want to do hilites with the color around your face so it's not TO different.

red color molecules are the biggest there are so it fades more quickly than any other color.

if it is a temporary color this will work but if it is a permenant color you could end up with a very weird shade.

Yes. Just wash it off about five minutes before, and rinse with hot water. But remember, it WILL fade much faster, as reds/mahoganies fade really fast anyway.

I would go to a professional if I were you.

It's really easy to damage your hair when you bleach it all if you're not really careful.

It takes a long time to put dye in the hair for most people... and since you have long hair, it's probably even more hard. And that will probably make your hair different shades because some dye will be on a lot longer.

You can just go to the salon to get it bleached, and then do the other color by yourself.

It shouldn't be too much.

i have thick fairly straight and long asian hair.

at the moment it is black with blonde/orange chunky highlights and bangs which are slowly taking their time to grow out.

hair first. Be aware that the only way you will get your natural hair back is too let it grow out. If you don't mind cutting your hair, and damaging your hair (no big deal if your hair grows quickly) go for it...after you get permission. I'm asian and I have very fine, black, straight, thin hair. I have these bangs that get in my face so I am just looking for a styling product (can be gel, cream, mousse, or whatever) that won't go "Cripsy" on me. I just need something affordable that will keep my hair in place if I style it a certain way and will wash off easily.

The best mousse EVER is matrix curl.life mousse. it NEVER gets crispy and it is AMAZING. I use it and i have really thick curly hair, my best friend who has the exact same hair as you and who is also asian used it once as a joke because her hair never holds curls and it came out AMAZING. I would very highly recommend it. p.s. it does wash off very easily and it doesn't dry your hair either. I hope this helps! (the link is in the sources)

If you are looking to make your hair curlier this is a great strategy:

1) When you get in the shower flip your hair upside down.

2) Wet your hair while it is still upside down and apply shampoo. (still upside down)

3) Rinse out the shampoo (still upside down) and apply conditioner

4) (you're still upside down lol) rinse conditioner out and step out of the shower

5) still upside down, towel dry your hair by scrunching it with the towel

6) again still upside down lol apply mousse and scrunch

7) Flip your hair over (finally) haha and voila curly hair :D

(this works amazingly for my asian friend)

I have poofy asian hair that dries with weird waves and is very frizzy and puffy. I always put it in a ponytail and I wash it in cold water and use a deep conditioner too but it doesn't really work. Use a 1 to 1 mixture ratio. Olive oil and water.

I've used this on women before and it works great. Heat up your mixture, preferably with some pretty warm water. Careful with heating olive oil itself. You could get burnt that way.

Apply to your hair by pouring(over sink or tub) or brushing(like basting on the grill). Using a wide tooth comb, comb through hair roots to ends. Pile hair on top of head and cover with saran wrap. I know, but I find it works great to keep in the natural heat from your head. Depending on the condition of your hair when you started, 15-30 minutes will do it. Rinse well and rewash with just a little shampoo to help clean it up.

Your hair will feel soft and will be soft for several days. If you do it in the evening time, sleep with a hand towel on your pillow. There will still be just a little residual oil from your hair no matter what you do. It is worth it.

well... i would suggest leaving in deep conditioners over night and also not washing your hair everyday. or using a dry shampoo on your scalp instead of washing it.

also i have never used olive oil in hair, but i have heard about oil conditioning things. when the conditioner or oil is in your hair you can warm it up with your dryer because the heat makes your hair open up and take more of the conditioning in it.

BUT! just remeber condition/oil your hair ends! not your scalp!! the closer to your scalp the less you should be conditioning or oiling.

I have dark, thick, and wavy hair (the latter two being the ones who choke me up the most) that goes down to about my chest. It's asian hair, so its pretty dry and never holds a curl.

A) How to curl it and get it to actually stay curly.

B) How to cut down on frizz (I'm very very prone to it.) Please don't suggest climate changes. (I'm in Oklahoma by the way - its hot and pretty humid in the summer.)

C) What products help with my hair type in curling/de-frizzing.

D) Just any helpful tips about managability. (My Mom has this gorgeous thin black hair that does whatever she wants at her every beckon and call, so she has no clue how to help me)

My hair only hold a curl if I use sponge rollers or velco rollers.

I know all about weird, unreliable, dry weather.

The only way to stop my hair from being frizzy is to use Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner from Healthy Sexy Hair.

When you straighten it or try to hot roll it put in some kind of protection, it cuts the frizz, helps with split-ends and protects your hair from drying out.

I have a Chi hair straighten so I use Chi straightening gel.

Any kind of straightening gel or spray should do the trick!

Get your hair cut regularly, once a every month or two, so you can't see any split ends.

You can get the sponge rollers, velcro rollers, and straightening gel come from Wal-Mart!

lots of home conditioning it, and need to do hair treatment at home. if you think it is bad, just try to put as ponytail for a while. and wear a hat or have hair extension. it can make you to do better.

Okay, I have 96%+ in every single class i take (advanced classes), run the school newspaper, am in like a million extracurriculars, and last year won the award for top student on my team at school. but yet, i still get made fun of and considered stupid because of my hair color. Am i the only one Who's sick of all this BS?!? i mean, the color of your hair has nothing to do with how well your brain funtions. why is it so hard for some people to understand that? and why is it okay to single out blondes to make mean jokes about? i mean, if you made black jokes or asian jokes or any other group on the planet jokes, you wouldnt be able to get away with it widespread like blonde jokes. everyone would be like, "thats so mean, you shouldnt do that." so why does nobody listen when blondes say it?!? what will it take for people to stop?!?
