Your hair, because you're Asian, is one of the strongest hair types. (thickest strands) There are 3 layers to the hair. Many caucasians only have 2 layers, but you've got all 3! (the more layers, the stronger the hair strand)

Anytime you try to 'lift' dark hair, it will pull some red. If you don't want as much red, use an ash color in the level you want. This will not totally eliminate the red, but it should calm it down.

If you want to go back to your original color then use a soft dark brown color. (there are several levels of dark brown. Just choose the one thats closest to what you had before.)

You can color safely after a week. Because your hair is almost virgin, you can really color again sooner without harming it sooner. (Virgin hair means hair that has never been chemically treated.) Just don't do this often and you'll be fine. Of course, anytime you color your hair, you should use shampoos and conditioners that are especially formulated for color treated hair. I like John Frieda brands cuz they work great and are very inexpensive yet effective. (smell great too!)

Best of luck!

You cant use anything 2 tones lighter than you natural haircolor on brown/black hair......if you do you will get that reddish color you are talking about.... you dont have to wait a certain time period to dye again unless you burned it or damaged it.. best drug store product " natural match by loreal" that should do the trick to fix it back. and you can get something closer but lighter than your haircolor too.

For a quick fix go to Sally Beauty Supply and ask for Radiance by Clairol maybe a 4n will suit your natural hair color match it up your self....this is not a lightener so you should suffer no damage.....
