Hey everyone.. 2 questions for u to answer if u would :O),,

firstly.. everyone talks about racism but i just wondered how much it is around nowadays.. as a white girl living in liverpool i have never seen it first hand.. for myself or any of my friends but of course i know it happens..have you ever experienced it? And if so .....why, what happened?

Secondly.. my friend's bf today said .. "im not racist at all.. ive got black/asian friends.. but i could never go out with a black girl cause i just dont find them attractive.. thats just my taste"

Do you think thats racism or just down to taste and stuff? I like blue eyes and blonde hair, but i dont think it wud matter if i fell in love with someone what colour they were??

Racism in the classic sense denotes use of power against another because of race. You are exhibiting prejudice or preference which has no per se economic, political, or social deprivation from that other person based on race/skin color. So the answer in my mind is no, you like what you like and that's okay. It's only when you do harm purposely because of your likes that racism come into play.

i hate racism. it's bad. period. with those situations, i think that being not attracted to a black person is not wrong, you're not just attracted to her. and not all black women are unattractive, i find some of them quite attractive. you know what you could do? just try your best not to be racist.

I am white and live in the US...and sadly, I hear bigotry every day. People have attitudes about blacks, about hispanics, even about other whites who are poor.

It makes me sick..the other day, my boss used the "n" word in front of me %26amp; another employee. I was shocked speechless, because that is WORSE than the "f" word to me. My kids got a mouthful of SOAP if they said it.

For the q about your Dad..I think that IS personal taste. I do not find Oriental people attractive physically...but if I ever WAS attracted to one, I could get over tha

Another thing--I am a FAT woman. I see trmendous amounts of prejudice EVERY DAY. Nobody seems to CARE about that one, but its still hurtful...think of THAT next time you snicker at a fat person..

Racism goes beyond a simple state of mind,it can be more of a "family thing" as that楹搒 what parents have taught their children. In my experience as a mexican girl living with an white american family, I suffered from pretty hurtful comments by someone IN the family who I thought knew me better. The impressive thing is that we were friends but after a few drinks, I got a pretty good idea of what was really in his mind...and this is a 24 yrl old guy raising 3 kinds under 10.

yeah that was pretty mean and that comment was cutting the line. he shouldn't judge black girls as a whole.

anyways, people of different cultures have been mean to me, but i don't look at it as racism, i just think that person has a bad attitude. color is the last thing i consider if someone is rude to me. but i am sure i have come across racist people.

He's not racist its just his preference and he shouldnt have to lie and say that he finds all races attractive when he really doesnt just to not offend anybody. If people are offended that he doesnt find black women attractive then they have issues about their low self esteem that they need to resolve. They obviously dont have enough self esteem to realize that one person not finding their race attractive shouldnt make a difference if there are really supposably so many people that find black women attractive as they say there are

I don't think what he said was racist. He's just now limited himself to a selection of beautiful women..black women come in all different sizes, looks..just like any other race...so IDK but I just wouldn't call it racist..maybe let him know that it's not cool to say you don't black girls but be specific like I don't like brown eyed girls..that's fine. And sometimes white guys say that around other white girls cause there scared of how the white girl will react but deep down inside he wants that chocolate..

I'm not sure if it's racist or not, but anyone who picks their friends or romantic partners on looks alone is an idiot destined for repeated heartbreak.

i had a racism joke told to me and the person somehow thought id find it funny....it was at their how is Va a white girl and my sis was in the back yard and the girl came out and asked her if she wanted to hear a joke and my sister asked what?, she pointed to a tree in the back yard and said "That is My ****** hanging tree" and she thought my sis would find that funny....

i almost killed the little girl so i just left, because i wanted 2 hang her up there
