I have a Chinese friend who wants to put some color in her hair; need advice?

She wants to put at-home highlights in her hair and I was wondering what colors would be her best choices. She has your typical coarse, jet-black Asian hair. It's super-healthy so she could probably get away with any kind of dye she wanted without dulling it too much, but I've never dyed anyone's hair from that dark before. Who's got recommendations? Pictures would be really helpful, too. Thanks!

I went to a boarding school and all the Asian girls who coloured their hair usually added a tint of brown/red, just so you can see it in the sunlight, or untill it lightens it slightly.

I don't think Asians suit light hair, but it looks nice if they tint it a bit.

i would go for a dark blu or purple cos that looks great in dark hair which is natural. but don't go for blonde what ever you do it wouyld look awful.

probley blood red it would look so cute expecully in dark hair if it was long it would look good in a bun with the red all in it

There is this asian girl at our school with the coolest hair ever! She has purple highlights and red highlights on the bottom. It doesnt even look wacky, it looks natural.
