ok i would not say comb it or brush it that can cause more damage. Start off by swithching out your shampoo, maybe switch to something mild for a week or so, like baby shampoo, this will clean it but lock in moisture . every other day for about 2 weeks pour about 3 table spoons full of extra virgin olive oile into a small bowl, add a spoonful of mayaonaise( i know it sounds gross but it does the trick) massage into hair and let sit about 5 to ten minutes wrap hair in towel, then wash with the baby shampoo. if you can forgo the straightning, then i would say wear it naturaul for about a month trim the ends that split. your hair should be back to normal within a month

this is what i do because i dye my hair and use heat on it all the time. once a week i mix half olive oil and half honey. enough to saturate your hair. warm it up in the microwave and put it on like shampoo. wrap your head up in a towel and leave it on for like an hour before you go to bed. shampoo it out and your hair will be shiny and soft.

ok first of all whatever you do DONT USE PANTENE. the only reason that stuff makes your hair look shiny and silky is because its like pure wax on your head. it is really bad for your hair. ok now that that is taken care of the best thing you can do is go get like 2 or 3 inches cut off your hair and then start using a high quality shampoo and conditioner. it might be a little expensive but you dont want to use anything really cheap or anything from a grocery store because products from a grocery store or a place that isnt a salon are usually left over products and arent going to be good for your hair at all. as far as straightening blowdrying and curling it start using a heat protecting product for your hair before you apply any heat to it. also to cut down on heat maybe dont blowdry it let it airdry. and buying a GREAT flat iron like a chi is actually better for your hair because they have a greater heat output, that might sound worse for your hair but its not. if you have a flat iron that isnt that hot you have to use it on the same strand of hair mulitple times to get the same effect that a hotter product could do in one time. hope this helped!

The only way I know how to lighten hair without dyeing it is with lemon. Squeeze lemon juice onto your hair, then go out in the sun for 30 minutes. Then wash your hair. It should naturally lighten it.

no, no never sun in...don't try to do it your self...unless you don't like your self...check out walmart's inside, smart style salon, they usually do great highlights...and request someone with experience, it only cost a dollar more...a seasoned hairdresser...and request foil wrap, NEVER the cap, that is for people without experience....talk to them about the color you want...you are worth the money, you'll need to get that redone about every three months....also check out Sabestian products while you are there, sure they have lots on sell, but that is just for people that don't care, in other words, they really couldn't give it away...Sabestian makes about 20 products in hair care...it is the very best...good luck...p.s. never use lemon juice, or anything..go straight to a stylist, Asian hair is so pretty when it is treated properly...

You are just like me!! I'm half black and half Philippine. Well, with my hair, I can flat-iron it and I'm too afraid to get a relaxer/perm because I don't know if I can keep it up. If I were you, try buying a flat-iron with a temperature control and don't forget to buy a good shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. Wash your hair, then blow dry it really really good. Then set the temperature to whatever you think your hair can handle and straighten it.

I am a 21-year-old Chinese male and I want a full-blown beard. I think I have a small percentage of Mongol/Manchurian/Korean/"Siberian" blood in me (by the way, I'm 6 feet 2, muscular, etc, appearing very masculine with a beard but a little fem w/o one).

I actually have somewhat of a beard and have been shaving ever since 7th or 8th grade. It grew a lot more noticeable over my teen years, except the bald patch about my jawlines. I have a mustache too, tho no hair really on my cheeks and the 'stache and beard are not linked up or connected togehter. I like my bearded look, but Asian's black hair type just doesn't have as many strands as brown or blond hair types, and my beard's goatee part under my chin is thin, though mustache and sideburns are prominent.

Frankly, i'm too LAZY and busy to shave. It takes me up to 30 minutes to shave everything nicely. I read that the clean-shaven look is nice for attracting stupid, rich, gullible Korean girls, but.. yeah I'm laaaaaazzzyy

ok im one hundred percent chinese, but all my friends make fun of me cuz they say that im chinese on the outside but white on the outside. ive got long hair (rock style) i wear black pants and black metal band t-shirts. i have an electric guitar which i connect to my amp and blast all the way up and listen to bands like lamb of god, slipknot, killswitch engage, mudvayne, as i lay dying, etc. ive been to concerts like system of a down and ozzfest. i have 4 f's and one b (grades). i hate rap and hip hop. i dont like asian chicks, i like white chicks. i dont have a bit of an accent, but my parents do. my favorite place to be at is guitar center. and ya... so back to the question.. am i weird??

Hey guys, i am a male trying to grow my hair out.. i was wondering how long my hair would take to grow about 4-5 inches..i had my last haircut in june..pretty bald..but not skin..and i am going to grow it out..i ALSO was wondering how my hair is going to look when its grown out..my hair does not slick back..and does not spike up for some reason..MY HAIR IS ROUGH FOR AN ASIAN GUY..my hair is as hard as broom bristles..so that should give you guys the feeling of it..and iv been getting maintenance hair cuts on the side called taper fade..will my sides still grow the same if i cut just the side burns..thank you for you help.

I really dont think that u should grow ur hair out...if u must then not too long its not hot no matter who u r... especially if ur hair is rough!!!if u want it to be softer use lots of conditioner!!! if u really want to grow ur hair out then it wil prolly take bout 2 or 3 months 2 get there!!! wash ur hair alot and massage ur head!!! sounds wierd but it really makes ur hair grow!

Although I'm a girl, I've heard that hair grows at an average of 2 inches every month, so it will probablt take you around 2-5 months to grow it out.

To try and speed it up a bit, I would recommend eating lots of healthy food such as friuts %26amp; veges and taking vitamins

Trim your hair half an inch right after the new moon- this way as the moon gets fuller, your hair grows faster. This does work as I have been doing it for many years. Do use creme hair rinse to soften your hair. Don't rinse it all out.

yes. i have the same type of problem with my hair i'm 1/2 native american 2/4 black and 2/4 incan and it the same way but like indian and asian hair i can straighten it and it will look beautiful.

My hair is also fine and thin. It breaks easily and is always frizzy. I agree about the Asian or Indian hair. It seems like their hair is always so smooth and shiny and beautiful looking. I also think dark hair is gorgeous.

I'm 1/2 Puerto Rican and 1/2 European Mutt (Irish, Italian, Polish), and I have very wavy hair that I got from my mom. I can't stand it because its difficult to spike or do anything with it when it grows out and I don't like wavy hairstyles because it doesn't suit me.

I wish I had dead, coarse, straight hair like one of my friends do, or at least really curly hair. Then I could use better styles then I do now. For now I keep my hair short and to a minimum (almost shaved, kind of like David Beckham did).

First of all, dont worry about girls yet. When the time is right you will find some girl that will enjoy your company. Don't give up even if you get turned down. Just say hi and be yourself and find something about her that you like. Ask her what things or hobbies or sports, etc. Talk about things you enjoy and see if she might like that too. well, it's either that you don't talk to a lot of people, you act immature (like..a father trying to play with his 3 year old kid), you're shy, you're a different race, and girls arent used to that, someone likes you, but won't go out with you or admit it bcuz if you're unpopular, she may think that her friends will make fun of her because you're not popular (or something like that), or....it just may be that....a lot of girls havent talked to you lately. ask girls out. be yourself. talk people. everyone, like friends and stuff. oh, and if you're like one of those guys that hug every girl, that may be a reason why no one wants to go out with you. hope this helped =)

I feel your pain sister! I'm Filipino and if my hair will curl AT ALL, it'll fall in like three hours.

I've found that for long lasting curls, you've gotta spend the cash. TIGI BedHead has some really pricey but really GREAT curlers and straighteners (not that we need those lol)

Well, to make the curl stay I'd suggest spraying the hair with hairspray BEFORE you curl it. It will help make the new shape stay. Find a medium barrel so the curls wont be too loose and fall out. Hope this helps!

i would put moouse in it, curl it and then hairspray it with super hold. i would carry some hairspray in your bag too =]

you could also hairspray your hair lightly before you curl it, but that could damage your hair if you spray too much. and then after you curl the hairsrpayed hair, hairspray it again.

Hey, I'm asian too. (chinese to be exact =]].)

I hate my hair since it's so hard to curl.

But since I've gotten short layers and sidebangs it really thinned my hair out, so I hope curling will be easier =]]. (haven't tried it yet, just got my haircut yesterday.)

What I find out is that curling less pieces of hair on a little higher than medium heat works for me.

Just be sure to find the right curling iron and the right curling mousse. I use finesse curl defining mousse (but I'm going to change soon because I'm getting annoyed with it) and a conair 1 inch barrel curling iron and I usually have it on 10-ish. =]]. Oo yeah, and I use dove hairspray, but I'm changing too bc I want to experiment! =]].

I have a Chi hair straightner, and it is pretty easy to curl with one of those. I watched a video on youtube to find out how. But to get a curl to hold put some hairspray in it before you curl it, it will also help the curls come out better.

Shampoo and condition your hair very well and brush with your wide toothed comb and/or brush. Make sure there are no knots!

Apply a small amount of conditioner and anti-frizz serum (anti-frizz serum is optional). Rub the products in very well until you can't see them in your hair anymore.

If your hair is naturally wavy let it air dry or blow dry your hair with a comb using anti-frizz serum.

Turn on the curling iron or curling irons that you plan to use.*

While the curling irons are warming up, separate your hair into three sections by pulling two sections to each side of your face leaving the third section to be the back.

Clip up two of the sections, leaving one down. Curl the first section, starting toward the back of your head and working your way to the front. When you put your hair in the curling iron it should look like a spring that is coiled around the curling iron. If you have two different sizes of curling irons use the larger one to curl the bottom layer of your hair and the smaller one to curl the top.

Spray that section with your hairspray and gently clip it away from the rest.

When you finish all of the sections, take out any clips or scrunchies you have holding the section and spray your hair all over with hairspray one more time.

Tips:

* Make sure you tussle your hair throughout the day to give it more body with a relaxed look to it yet it looks bouncy.

* don't make the curling iron go all the way up to your head or it will look too curly

* Use maximum hold hair spray to keep your style in all day.
